JustFundKy Announces Details of Its Biggest Ever Derby Eve Party



“Gatsby – a Derby Eve to Remember,” Will Have Added Features, World-Class Entertainment


Lexington, KY – April 16, 2014 – JustFundKy today announced details and preparations for its increasingly popular Derby Eve party. The event, titled “Gatsby – a Derby Eve to Remember,” will take place Friday, May 2nd, and will be held at Lexington’s Grand Reserve at 903 Manchester Street in the Distillery District. Doors will open at 8:00PM.

The event benefits JustFundKy, a non-profit fund supporting awareness, understanding and equal rights for Kentucky’s LGBT community.

Tickets, which include dinner, drinks and a full evening of dancing and entertainment, are $125 for advance sales and $150 at the door while supplies last.They can be purchased securely online here.

Lexington became world famous for its Derby Eve parties over the last 50 years, most often hosted by leading Kentucky horse racing families such as the Maddens and Whitneys. JustFundKy Board President Hon. Ernesto Scorsone noted that “The JustFund Derby Eve Party is a wonderful way to celebrate both our heritage and our future. Held in a historic distillery, the Party celebrates 140 years of the Kentucky Derby and helps fund efforts to achieve equality for all Kentuckians. The party is open to all, and all JustFund grants are distributed here in the Commonwealth.”

Event Details



Doors will open at the Grand Reserve at 8:00PM on May 2nd. Attendees are encouraged to dress in Gatsby 1920’s attire. A full schedule of music, dancing and entertainment will include the following:

  • 8-9:30 Lexington’s own Hepcat Swing Dancers and the Walnut Street Ramblers
  • 9:30 – 10 Performances by Imperial Court
